Welcome to my corner of the web! I'm delighted you're here.
Hi, I’m Terril, a proud mum to a wonderful 29-year-old daughter, and I call the picturesque Penrith, Cumbria, home. Living in such a beautiful part of the country, I'm constantly inspired by nature and the tranquillity it offers. It has also helped me slow down.
In 2023, I was diagnosed with ADHD, a revelation that finally made sense of my life's journey. While some might grieve such news, for me, it was a light bulb moment . It finally explained my rollercoaster life, constantly overthinking, feeling like I don't fit in, crying too easily, being stressed, my straight talking nature and tendency to swear when driving. (yes that's my impulsivity)
I've worn many hats in my career, retraining and moving on when boredom struck. This pattern of change has been true for my relationships too. Yet, through it all, my drive to learn and develop never wavered. I am always seeking the next course and the next challenge.
I hate rules and restrictions and I believe in challenging unfair systems and standing up for what’s right. Freedom to be, to play, to learn and grow is therefore so important for me. To be authentically true to ourselves, instead of masking or people pleasing is crucial, especially for those of us with ADHD. I'm still learning to let go of my perfectionist tendencies but know that I am good enough.
Respect is a cornerstone of my values. Respect for our bodies, ourselves, and each other is paramount. We have one body and one life, and it's essential to care for both. I eat a well balanced diet and practise regular yoga, strength training, and body balance throughout the week, and I start each day with meditation followed by a shower, turning the water cold for the last minute. (try it it's invigorating) These routines keep me grounded, energised and motivated.
Creativity and mindfulness provides a sanctuary for my mind and body. My garden is my paradise, a haven where I can watch a variety of birds from my patio. I also love getting messy with art—painting, drawing, pastel, and for me taking joy in the process is much more fun than the final product. I walk daily in nature and hopefully soon I will have a little dog to join me.
I have a love of books and can lose myself in a good novel (sometimes finishing it in a day thanks to hyper-focus). I have six books on the go at any time and have a stack at the side of my bed, mostly fiction and self help.
Connecting with friends is something I cherish, as it fosters a sense of belonging and community. I also believe in pushing myself out of my comfort zone by trying new activities. It's in these moments of challenge that we truly grow.
I believe in living a life that resonates with our true selves, embracing our quirks, and continuously striving to be better. I hope my journey resonates with you and that we can connect over shared values and experiences. Let’s embrace the adventure together!

"Terril helped me understand my diagnosis and the associated symptoms and also provided me with numerous tools and information to help me moving forward. She helped me set up routines and new processes into everyday life to alleviate the symptoms and help me function the way my brain works instead of working against it."
